Marist claims the cup at FATS U20’s Tournament

Marist  takes the cup at Rugby Academy Samoa’s Fat’s U20’s Tournament,  Yesterday, Marist clinched the win against Falefa with an end score of 17-16 .

The pitch at St. Joseph’s College in Alafua was full of supporters who looked on eagerly to bear witness to the head on collision of two very evenly matched teams.

Both teams were neck and neck the entire match, neither unable to retain the lead for very long.

But it was Marist’ powerful forward back that blazed the trail for their team to be led to victory.  One forward in particular, no. 8 Mikaele Tapili, had an outstanding performance on the pitch yesterday. Tapili dominated the match with his height and experience to overcome Falefa. His exceptional performance even caught the eye of  former no. 8 himself, Manu Samoa’s George Stowers.

However, Falefa should not be discounted.  They fought to the very end leaving everything on the pitch and it really could have been any one’s game.  Falefa fought until the last whistle blew and their determination is worth applause.

1st: Marist St. Joseph
