Nine new holders of the Le’aupepe chiefly title celebrated the beginning of a new journey at Fasito’o-uta yesterday.
Among the titleholders were Le’aupepe Leilua Tutogi, Le’aupepe So’onanofo, Le’aupepe Malosi Ai, Le’aupepe Alavini, Le’aupepe So’onafai, Le’aupepe Fereti, Le’aupepe Helen, Le’aupepe Lemuimui and Le’aupepe Fuatino.
For new chief, Le’aupepe Leilua Tutogi, yesterday’s ceremony was a special moment for them and their family.
“It’s a privilege for everyone of us to have this title and with it, we we’ll continue to serve our family,” Le’aupepe Tutogi said.
“Having a title comes with many responsibilities.
We are not only looking forward to a life of service to our families, we are also looking at serving God through the church and our community.”
The bestowal formalities were followed by the presentation of traditional gifts and a huge family feast enjoyed by everyone.
