A cold beer, good company and a live band is always something to yearn for after a week in the office. And that’s precisely what was on offer onFriday night.

The Ace of Clubs was the hot place to be for different generations who gathered to be serenaded by the smooth vocals of the OZKI Band. With a variety of song choices, the band made sure to cater to everyone’s music tastes leaving no one disappointed.

Even a few non-clubbers got in on the action with a cold bottle of their fizzy drink choice swaying to every tune.

During an interview with the Samoa Observer in an article earlier this week, the boys stated that although they are based overseas, opportunities to give back to the people in this way is something they always welcome.  “It’s always good to come back and perform here in Samoa,” said band member Josh Iopu Mase.

“And it’s always good to give back to Samoa, give back to our people, and to showcase our talents. And it might encourage the youth in Samoa in a positive way. To push them to pursue whatever talents they have from God. And it’s good to come back and support my brothers here, because I think Samoa was the platform of where they started, and to see them grow every year ever since they started is just amazing.” The band continued by saying how playing in Samoa is but emphasizing that they are always up for the challenge.

“Samoa has the toughest crowd,” they said.

“Samoans are observers, I mean they like to party, but they mostly observe the brand when they play, but at the same time, they are really appreciating the band.

“And because we’re from Samoa, we know how it is here. But if a different group from overseas come over and play in Samoa, they would not understand twhis. It’s a different vibe in terms of crowd.”

But what they got was different from what they expected on Friday night with the pleased crowd making no effort to hide their satisfaction.
