A man was in critical condition yesterday and had to be evacuated to the hospital as a result of a collision at Vaitele fou.

The collision involved a taxi van and a Mitsubishi Pajero.

The Police and Fire and Emergency Services Authority (F.E.S.A.) arrived immediately.

According to an eyewitness, one of the vehicles was supposed to give way but it didn’t.

Speed is suspected to have been a factor.

The eyewitness said the crash happened so quickly and he was grateful no one died at the scene.

“As you can see, the Pajero has rolled and it’s on its side,” he said.

“The driver of the van was taken to the hospital. He was unconscious when they took him."

“But the driver of the Pajero and his friend had minor injuries and they were taken by the police officers.”

The driver of Pajero had apparently blamed failed breaks for what happened.
