Worrying about the safety and health of your children and family members at home can consume your thoughts, making it difficult to focus on other important demands in your life.

This is the plight of Uele Ioane aged 33 of Tuanaimato.

The father said he is struggling to try to make his home a better place for his family especially his children.

“This land belongs to my uncle, “he tells Village Voice.

“It was given to my mom as a gift.

“The land was uninhabited, so were preferred to move here to develop and make use of our land.

“We have lived here for two years now, we started with a faleo’o and now we have been  able to extend our house.,

“It’s not proper and safe and this is why I need some help.

“All is well here; we have everything we want, we also have food around the house and we try to live a happy life even though we struggle some of the time.

“Our house is our only problem, but everything else is fine.

Uele sacrifices his job for his children.

“I used to be employed but I quit because I was prioritizing my children’s lives.

“I worked at laying tiles and sometimes I would hardly come home to my kids.

“The hardest part while working was not having much time to spend with my family.

“Most of my time was work, work and work.

“It happens at any company because we work morning till night and sometimes we do overtime at work.

He went on to say they have no money most of the time.

“While I was still working, I saved some money,” he said.

“This money is what my family is turning to now especially my three kids at school.

“So right now, we have used it all and my wife and I are selling fruit in front of our house.

“We all know, right now money talks, everything is to do with money.

But Uele said he is not a lazy man.

“We stand on our own two feet to develop our family, we don’t expect anyone else to come do the work for us.

“I believe God had blessed us in different ways, if we love another I guess God will be thrilled to help us all.

“I hate to say that I need help with our house but we don’t know who else to turn to.”
