Netball Samoa kicked-off their 2018 National Netball League tournament last week Saturday at the National University of Samoa gymnasium.

This also acknowledges their contribution to the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace, which was celebrated on Friday last week.

According to Netball Samoa C.E.O., Rosemarie Esera, their initiative and strategic plans suited the celebration of the International Day of Sports for Developments and Peace.

“Sport promotes health and well-being. It fosters tolerance, mutual understanding and peace. It empowers, inspires and unites both the players, as well as the spectators.”

Last week’s tournament started with the Under-14 competition all the way to the Open Men’s shield, Women’s A reserve and Women’s A grade division.

Marist Saints won the Men’s Shield Match against Hyundai team 36-30 at fulltime.

Round two of the National Netball League tournament is schedule for this weekend at the N.U.S gym.

Prizes for all divisions in the tournament are through the courtesy of Pacific Forum Line Samoa.
