Handling claims of corruption

Dear Editor,

Re: P.M. blasts small-minded people

Tuilaepa said when claims of wrongdoing surface, they have policies to deal with them. “We carry out an investigation and then we await the outcome of that investigation.”

Lest we forget what happened to the former Auditor General, Su’a Rimoni Ah Chong when he raised the many corruption that existed and still existing in the government.

It resulted in the H.R.P.P. fast-tracking a law amendment to change the life appointment of the Auditor to that of Cabinet term appointment.

This also led to the thuggery assassination that took place when one so called ‘rogue’ minister threatened to go public with the numerous alleged corruption of the ministerial portfolio by the previous minister.

It seemed only those that could not stop the overwhelming evidence of corruption from leaking to the public would these policies and investigation apply.

The rule of pau a le mea, aua ne’i iloa is still rife.
