We don’t have ‘economies of scale’

I don’t think Samoa has “economies of scale”.
Simply put, it does not produce anywhere near the number of coconuts (for example) to reduce the cost of can of coconut milk compared to the Asians.
The Asians produce full shiploads of never-ending supply into the NZ and Australian markets even though the likes of Thailand and Cambodia and Vietnam are further away from these markets than Samoa.
By contrast, Samoan supply is miniscule, hence why the Asians can afford to lower the cost of their cans and Samoa cannot.
