We demand a “Please explain”

Dear Editor

Re: Tuilaepa: Govt. is more than able to repay debts

Samoa’s PM (who got in without a single vote) is being illusive (deceptive, illusory) If he can’t explain to us what is going on with our money then professional auditors must be sent in independent of the government to first find out and second explain in simple terms what is going on with Samoa’s finances. Independent auditors can also tell us (because their future does not depend on this information) if Samoa is broke or not.

As a future generation myself and for my children I want to know what is going on with Samoa’s money. When the government borrowed money from overseas my name, your name and every future generation of Samoa’s was included in that loan. Hence the reason why we need to manage the money wisely and also we must know very clearly what is going on with the money.

If the PM cannot explain because it is too complicated then let the independent auditors explain it to us.

If the Minister of Finance cannot deny or confirm that Samoa’s debt is $2billion then he is also being illusive.

Every citizen of Samoa has the right to know the truth about Samoa’s finances.
