Police Commissioner, Fuiavailili Egon Keil, has less than five days to rest and relax before returning to work next week Tuesday.

This was confirmed by Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, who is also the Minister of Police.

But before he resumes work, Tuilaepa will meet with Fuiavailili to give him a pep talk.

“In this meeting, I will give him some advice and words of encouragement,” Tuilaepa said yesterday.

“Because a lot has been said and a lot has happened in the past, but the thing is, we shouldn’t dwell in the past.”

He went on to say that in cases such as this, it is always important that “we let bygones be bygones.”

“The best thing for us to do is to look ahead and keep moving forward,” Tuilaepa said.

“The matter reached a final decision from Court and the decision is to dismiss all the charges against him. So he should return back to work. Whatever decision was made by the Court, that’s the final decision.”

Tuilaepa also reminded everyone that as humans, we are prone to making mistakes.

He compared what happened to the Commissioner to a married couple who have been separated for years.

“Once they reconcile, it will just be like the good old times when they first started dating. Once they do that, their relationship will be filled with warmth and love.

“They will never get tired of looking at each other and always want to be next to each other.”

He said such situation is similar to the case of Fuiavailili.

“It’s just like that for this situation. Once they return back after going through a lot, there will be change and it will be different for them.”
