The mediation

Re: Time for Elders to resign

If you do not understand any details of the matter then I suggest you be careful with your statements. The mediation concluded with the girl confessing to falsely accusing him of such crimes and she consented for the truth to be released after he dropped charges against her.

That’s what the compromise was. Not all elders came to the decision of sacking the pastor, majority had no say.  However if you’re gonna believe that the elders making a decision on a stranger’s behalf just because ‘no woman would do that’ which we all know makes no sense, all against a pastor they’ve always known and worked with for YEARS, then you shouldn’t be having a say in any of this at all.

The woman confessed so that charges against her would be withdrawn. It was her own stupidity for letting herself be bribed to lie.

This pastor’s reputation and family was on the line and she did not deserve to be let off so easily, yet she was. The pastor has cleared his name; the woman knew she had no chance if the case was taken to court. Let’s try be more careful with our statements and not make assumptions about what we do not understand.

The real irony is that a pastor who has been working for God for years was let down by the elders of the church whom he had trusted and worked along side with. I fear some people will never see the pain and struggle Afereti and his family are going through because of this.
