This is  Pese Brown of Lotofaga.

He was spotted by Village Voice yesterday while working alone at his huge tract of land at Lotofaga.

“I live here alone and that’s my house back there,” he said.

“I don’t have kids or a wife but I have siblings who have supported me all along.

“I work on this huge land all by myself. I do all sorts of farming here and I’m a very hard working man.

“To be honest I’m very blessed My age does not compare to my very strong body.

“You see, we have another house in the inland area where my siblings and their families are living.

“This land means a lot to me, my parents used to live here. I mean we all did but because it’s too far from the inner village, we moved.

“Right now it’s just me trying to maintain our land and keep it as it was before.

“I don’t mind working alone and I have no problems at all. Everything is fine because I believe God is with me every day.

He said while life isn’t easy anymore in terms of money they always try their best to budget with what they have.

“To me personally, I specifically don’t have anyone to prioritise like kids or wife but I do help my siblings’ families develop.

“As you can see on that side, I grow different vegetables. Beside my house I have a huge taro patch. “At the back of my house there’s a river where I can get some crabs for food.

“I have it all here, and I do what I can to help my family with food and money.

“It’s not at all it seems, but we have everything on the land, if we don’t work to develop it every day nothing good will come out of it.

But the elderly man said that there’s hope.

“No matter how hard life is, there’s hope.”

“Personally, despite all the failures, challenges and problems in life especially that I work and live alone, God is still in control.”

“So we keep on praying...and I thank God for His faithfulness, He has never let us down.”

“What is very important is that we work together all the time and I believe this is the key to a successful family.”
