The Commission of Inquiry tasked by Cabinet to investigate the conduct of suspended Assistant Police Commissioner, Samoa Mulinu’u, has been adjourned until 26 June 2017.

The decision was made and announced yesterday by Chairman of the Commission, Lesatele Rapi Vaai when the Inquiry sat. 

Lesatele had asked Mulinu’u’s lawyer, Arthur Lesa, if they had any witnesses who wanted to testify.

“No Sir,” Mr. Lesa responded.

“However, my client wants to take the stand and testify.”

Lesatele then asked Mr. Mulinu’u if his testimony would require another Police officer, Luatimu Samau’s presence.

Mulinu’u said yes.

Lesatele adjourned the matter since Luatimu has left the country.

“The Commission has decided to adjourn Mulinu’u’s testimony to do it together with the Samau’s testimony on the 26th of June.

“By that time, Samau is already in the country as he will be returning on the 23rd of June.

“However, if the Office of the Ombudsman and other members decided to testify then we will proceed with their testimonies on the 23rd of the June.”
