Government should address road design

Dear Editor,

Re: Speed blamed for Sunday crash

This was one of the biggest concerns when our government decided to make the switch to accommodate all the vehicles purchased from Australia and N.Z. Although it was a great idea from an economic standpoint, the government failed to vet the road design into consideration prior to the switch.

The road is designed to avoid blind spots when you drive on the left side.

After the switch, these blind spots are now becoming more and more evident when someone is speeding.

We all want drivers to slowdown but even the experienced driver cannot control a car when approaching these blind spots.

The government needs to address these areas.

If the government would take an honest effort to study the cause of these accidents, they will discover that most of the areas with deadly accidents are caused by blind spots that are now in place due to the switch.

Our roads were designed by the U.S.M.C. based on the American cars.

The government needs to address these areas by removing these blind spots or accidents will continue to rise.

Continue with importing cars from Australia and N.Z, but an assessment on these areas needs to perform as soon as possible.
