The two men accused of murdering a man from Falealupo Savai’I have had charges of murder withdrawn against them.

Kalolo Sefilino and Sio Sefulu also from Falealupo pleaded not guilty to three charges of murder against them.

The victim, a 26-year-old man was transferred to the Moto’otua hospital in November this year where he died a day after he was allegedly attacked by the accused.

Mr. Sefilino was represented by lawyer Alalatoa Rosella Papali’i while Leota Raymond Schuster appeared on behalf of Mr. Sefulu.

Presiding the matter is Supreme Court Judge, Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala Warren.

Leone Su’a Mailo and Lucy Sio were the lawyers for the National Prosecution Office.

In the Supreme Court yesterday, Mrs. Mailo filed for an application to withdraw three charges of murder against both accused.

She also asked to withdraw another charge of manslaughter against Mr. Sefilino.

Justice Tafaoimalo accepted the request.

At this point, Alalatoa had then changed the plea for Mr. Sefilino to guilty for the charge of grievous bodily harm.

Leota who was representing Mr. Sefulu also informed the Court that his client would like to change his plea to guilty on the charge of manslaughter.

Justice Tafaoimalo then adjourned the matter for sentence on 14th December.
