Business Systems Limited has come on board to support the “Super Kids, Super Hit” programme for children aged 5-15 years old. The programme is run by the Samoa International Cricket Association so therefore B.S.L. presented them with a cheque of $3,000tala.

In an interview with the Marketing Manager of B.S.L. Nixon Matai’a he said B.S.L. is always supportive of programmes that help young kids' development in sports.

“It’s all about the kids in terms of healthy living and staying healthy, we also have a nobesity programme and so the nature of our work is to supply and support the kids in terms of education and everything else,” he said.

"When we heard about the cricket we thought this was a great opportunity to help the kids and especially we can see that the development of cricket in Samoa is moving forward.

“We want to let the people know that we are here to help and support, especially when it comes to the children of Samoa.”

Mr. Matai’a went on to say that this is the first time they have donated to S.I.C.A and he is sure that it will not be the last time.

We have been around for almost forty years and we always love to support and help out with the children of Samoa,” he said.

“The money is to assist with the development of the Super Kids, Super Hit programme as they requested to us, it is to assist them with new uniforms for the above said programme, hence why we are here today.”

Director of the Super Hit, Super Kids Programme Patricia Solomua she thanks BSL for being supportive with the development of the sport in Samoa.

“The pilot project started with just 20 kids but now there are approximately 150 kids,” she said.

“The programme is to promote healthy eating, healthy lifestyle and gender equality inclusiveness to the young ones but at the same time providing opportunity to learn a new sport, have fun and just play cricket.

“With the high rate of non communicable diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, kidney failure and cancer to mention a few, cricket sees the opportunity through the Super Kids, Super Kt programme as a vehicle to enhance and promote awareness of good eating habits, healthy living and healthy lifestyle to young ones.”
