A day away from their moment of truth, the contestants of the McDonald’s Miss Samoa Pageant 2017 made their last stop, yesterday afternoon, at Taula Beverages Company Ltd., at Falelauniu.

After being welcomed and meeting with the staff of Taula Beverages, the contestants were given a tour at the factory by Head Brewer, Aurora Elisaia-Vaai and Jona Tuiletufuga.

This is Taula Beverages second year of sponsoring the Miss Samoa Pageant.

Commercial Manager, Mike Mahendra, said the company’s philosophy is “everything for Samoa.”

“At the end of the day, yes it’s a competition, but in our eyes, all of you are winners because it takes a lot of effort and a lot of courage to be at where you are standing,” Mr Mahendra said.

“You are in the eyes of all Samoans and as a Samoan beverage company, we are very proud because we are a 100 percent Samoan and our biggest effort is to push the Samoan economy forward.”

Mr Mahendra acknowledged that the competition is challenging, especially for the one who will stand up and carry the flag next year. He paid tribute to the reigning Miss Samoa. Priscilla Olano.

“I bet she must have given you a lot of her experiences because you’re going to represent Samoa across a lot of different platforms.

“Let the inner self of a Samoan woman come out of each one of you and shine in your own lights. You’re all winners!”

Miss House of Gold, Alexandra Iakopo, thanked Taula Beverages for their support.
