Govt. can’t run a business

Dear Editor

Re: Govt. buys Gold Star building for $7million

The defender of the HRPP, Mr. Jeffery.

I agree that this is prime real estate but the government has not demonstrated that they can run a business that makes money. The government will raise the price so that the small business cannot afford the lease.

They will bill/advertise the renovation as enticing all businesses but, they will cater to the foreigners that have the finances and willingness to mortgage its future.

Without small businesses moving into this space, eventually the government will sell/lease the building to a private company.

With so much government infrastructure around town that they claimed, most of them are deteriorating and abandoned. They could’ve spent the money on renovating these abandoned buildings and leased them instead of purchasing new buildings. By renovating these old buildings, they can create jobs for our people.
