Work hard is the only way to achieve goals

We’re all living in a world, where people complain about almost anything especially with the expensive cost of living.

But people need to just focus on working hard instead of complaining. It’s always best to not rely on anyone but yourself.

That’s the view of Sagato Sanele, 34-years-old, from the village of Faleasi’u.

Sagato is a father who works at a small mechanic business at Aleisa and Village Voice caught up with him yesterday while he was painting the rocks in his village.

Sagato said that his work is the only source of income for his family. The same money also goes to his children’s schools, fa’alavelave and other family obligations when it’s needed.

“It’s true that the cost of living is expensive, but that depends on people, if they like to work or not to make it easy.

“You see, this life is all about working for your family so they can get a better future.

“If we depend too much on other people, it’s not good,” he says to the Village Voice.

“I think the way we work for our families and the way we serve them is a really important thing in this life.

Sagato said that not only this life has come to a point where there is so many obligations that we need to contribute to but also the cost of living isn’t helping anyone these days.

“Some people think just because they pray and live a peaceful life means that they will get everything just like that but no, you can have that life and still get nothing if you’re someone who’s lazy to work. What you reap is what you sow.”

Sagato went on to say that his main priority is his family.

“I put my family first, my children first because all the other things have to be taken care of later.

“To me, a can of fish is enough everyday for food.

“We don’t need to eat fancy food and that saves a lot of money for us and that’s how I budget for our needs.”

Sagato believes that this life is a challenge and that’s enough reason for him to get up everyday and work hard to make a living.
