As life goes on, the cost of living continues to climb. That’s a fact. 

 Ask Su’a Tulaga, a 45-year-old from the village of Vaitele-uta and Gagaifo Lefaga and he will tell you. 

Su’a is pleading with the government of Samoa to show some love and lower the cost of living for we all have children and they need futures better than the life we have now. 

“We all know the changes from the past to the present and nothing is at the same price anymore,” he says. 

Su’a is currently working at Betham Brothers Enterprises and like most people, he’s the only source of income for his family. 

“Making sure my children stays in school is my main priority and I think that’s one of the most important things to all the parents nowadays, you know because they understand that once you miss this for your children, they are going to face a future of hardships. 

“So that’s why I’m still putting up with this life because one day we won’t be with our children anymore, the least we could do is giving them the best life now to equip them for their future. 

The hard working father still wishes for the government to do something about the cost of living. 

“Of course the government thinks the cost of living isn’t that bad because they have the good life but for us, we have so much to spend money on and yet we get so little. 

“I’m just requesting on this because I’m thinking about the welfare of my children. 

“I’m asking for this because I want my children to have good futures. 

But we all know, life goes on and no matter how hard and expensive gets, parents still try their best to put their children first.
