Thursday was a day of celebration for students at Vailoa Primary School.

The occasion was the grand opening of their $57,097.30 hall.

The project was funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The church donated $46,000 while other costs were shouldered by the P.T.A. and the school.

Members of the church were present during the ceremony with high hopes to continue working with the people of Samoa in times of need.

Principal, Lanuola Maiava, said the school is extremely grateful for the help.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Church of Latter Day Saints for their assistance in funding this hall,” she said.

“Not only that but to Mr. and Mrs. Velinga for their support in so many ways.

“To the parents and children of Vailoa-Tai, malo lava le galue!

Elder Velinga cut the ribbon.
