Prisoner in Australia still at large

The Ministry of Police are still on the hunt for the escaped prisoner, Valufitu Fiu Uolilo who fled the country last year. 

The latest report on his whereabouts is that he is in Australia and police have yet to track him down.  According to the Media Officer of the Ministry of Police, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu, they haven’t received an update on that matter. 

The Assistant Commissioner of Tafaigata Prison, Sagaga Galu Frost confirmed that they too haven’t received any further information. 

He said the matter was passed to the Ministry of Police to investigate and return him to Samoa to serve his jail term. 

The accused, Valufitu was sentenced to two years imprisonment for causing actual bodily harm and being armed with a dangerous weapon. 

He escaped from Tafaigata Prison and fled the country last year.
