If you love someone, pray about it. If it’s meant to be, God will lead you to it.

The phrase augurs well for Vanda Lefu Mataseni and Asovale Junior Pati, who tied the knot on Saturday, after four years of courtship.

The service was conducted by Rev. Amosa Reupena at the E.F.K.S Church in Vaimoso.

Vanda is the daughter of Ausi Lefu Mataseni and Taevaga Mataseni of Lotopa and Vaimoso. Junior is the youngest of Mareta Asovale and Talaoali’i Asovale Pati of Fagali’i’s five children.

The bride and groom first met at the Samoa Commercial Bank back in 2014 where the bride works. It was that spark of the moment that united two souls. Junior said he prayed about his affection for Vanda, which to this day he doesn’t regret.

He said they encountered challenges along the way.

“It was never a smooth ride for us, there were obstacles coming our way that made us want to give up.”

He added it was God who helped them through some of the rough times in their relationship.

“There was always something to hold on and we believe it was God’s plan that we were meant for each other.”

"We love because He first loved us."

Following a beautiful wedding service, a reception was held at the National University of Samoa fale where about 300 people gathered to celebrate the new beginning for Mr. and Mrs. Pati’s life.
