Ma’oi Polynesia is taking their Samoan spreads to the world as part of Pacific Trade Invest (P.T.I.) Australia’s Pacific Showcase at Fine Food Australia next week.
Founded by Cedric Holz, Ma’oi Polynesia is based in the village of Poutasi.
Mr. Holz works with the Poutasi village, to produce his hand-crafted range from traditional jams to pure tropical fruit spreads.
Using locally planted fruit and employing locals, Ma’oi Polynesia is set to showcase internationally the unique taste of perfectly ripe exotic fruits grown here in Samoa putting Samoa on the international food map for boutique plantation to jar spreads.
Fine Food Australia is the leading trade exhibition for the food industry.
Running from the 11-14 September the event is a showcase of the latest products and attracts buyers from restaurants, bakeries, retailers, caterers and other food businesses in Australasia.
Mona Mato, Export Services Manager, P.T.I. Australia said there is an increasing demand internationally for artisian products with consumers wanting to understand where and how their food is produced, creating a real market for high quality boutique products like Ma’oi Polynesia.
“There’s a real food movement with consumers wanting to know how their food is produced and where is sourced. There’s an increasing health and socially conscious consumer market that’s choosing boutique products with an ethical story over massed produced commodities, this is the market that Ma’oi Polynesia will appeal too,” Mato said.
“Fine Food Australia will also be a great vehicle to raise awareness of Ma’oi Polynesia and it’s story to an international audience.
They will not only get feedback and foster relationships directly with Australian retailers and distributers. The Expo will also provide them with valuable insight into their competitors. By being part of the show they will see firsthand how their competitors market and position themselves.”
P.T.I. Australia’s Pacific Showcase will host eight pacific enterprises – Samoa’s Ma’oi Polynesia; Fiji’s Foods Pacific Ltd and Genes Premium Seafoods; Vanuatu’s Azure Pure Water Ltd; Niue Vanilla Organic; NiuLife and Solagro Products from the Solomon Islands and P.N.G’s Superior Coffee.
