CONTESTANT NUMBER 7: Natasha Darryl, Miss Original Style.

Natasha Darryl has achieved more than most 25-year olds.

For one, the Miss Samoa contestant  is the breadwinner for her family of three.

And academically, she has made her mother proud as a holder of a Bachelor of Arts-Double Major Anthropology, Film and Media from the Otago University in New Zealand.

But it’s still not enough because she is marching on with her studies as a part-time Post Graduate student in Gender Studies with the University of the South Pacific Alafua Campus.  And in her final semester at that.

So why would she step up to be Contestant #7 as Miss Original Style in the McDonald’s Miss Samoa Pageant 2017?

“Striving to the best that I can be,” says the young contestant.

For the pageant, Miss Original Style chose education, human rights and gender equality as her platform.

“My mother is my role model and she has contributed to my independence and passion for gender equality and human rights,” she says.

She is a member of the Apia Protestant Church and infatuated with fashion and enjoys new experiences.
