“Perfect” was the one word Tapulaaia ‘Tapu’ Leaupepe used to describe his newly-wedded wife Fale Tafiti.

“She’s perfect in every way and the perfect girl for me,” said Tapu.

The couple tied the knot at Faleata Sports Complex last Saturday and their holy matrimony service was blessed by Rev. Sepi Gafa of the C.C.C.S. at Solosolo.

He quoted I Corinthians 13: 4-8 from the bible to the new couple.

“Love is patient, love is kind.

“It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

He urged Tapu and Fale to let God lead the way and make this the foundation of their marriage.

Despite living in American Samoa, the two lovebirds decided to get hitched in Samoa, where Tapu was born and raised.

It was relatively important for Tapu to bring his wife to meet his family for the first time and show her the beauty of his country.

The son of Mary Leaupepe, Tapu is from Fasito’o.

“She made me the happiest man when she said yes to marry me.

“This is a new chapter of our lives and we will make the most of it,” said Tapu.

Daughter of Malae Samu Olita Tafiti, Fale is from Leone, American Samoa where she is a nurse.

“Tying the knot to the love of your life is an amazing feeling.

“As if getting engaged was exciting..... this was actually overwhelming.

“I will wake up every morning next to my best friend, and it’s the greatest feeling ever,” said Fale.

The bride was ecstatic when she was surprised by her cousins, Trisha Siatu’u, Jason Laumoli and Mitchell Ve’ave’a who flew over to celebrate her special day.
