Do us a favour

Dear Editor

Re: DO THE HONOURABLE THING, COACH

Hopefully by the time this gets printed Namulauulu Alama would have done all of us and Samoa Rugby a huge favour and resigned.

Manu Samoa performances and results under his leadership have just been abysmal with the Manu now in serious danger of not qualifying for the next World Cup.

All Ieremia has done is talk a big talk since taking the role but no walk. It is evidently clear the players are not responding to his coaching style and philosophy. SRU Board would be well advised to replace him immediately while we have time.

Suggest putting Aaron Mauger in charge in the interim. Mauger has huge experience in coaching in the Northern Hemisphere where the majority of the players play their footy.

Furthermore, while the Board is at it, they would be again well advised to consider the performances of the CEO and Brian Hopely.

Together with Ieremia, the three of them have overseen the worst results across the board for SRU and the mess SRU are currently in and they should all be held accountable with swift actions taken.

Failing this could be catastrophic for Samoa Rugby going forward.

Imagine the 2019 World Cup without our beloved Manu.
