Fashion with a cause was the main target for fashion icon and designer, Dane Mulinuu Fabricius, at the 2018 L.I.F.E-Con Explosion last week.

The designer behind the D.M.F. brand, which is the initials for his name, focused on sustainable fashion for this year’s showcase.

L.I.F.E.-Con Market Day held at Tanoa Tusitala Hotel provided D.M.F. an opportunity to display his latest independence collection - the Vaea - named after the designer’s father.

It is particularly focused on men’s clothing.

“This year is my first time taking part in this fashion showcase, I’m really excited,” he said.

“It’s 2018 and D.M.F. is offering a whole new collaboration with sustainable fashion. We’ve looked at the art and work that we’ve put in through different colors for a sexy look. It also has more of a business look to it, but giving it a nice clean touch.”

D.M.F. launched its independence sustainable fashion line during the fashion show at Taumeasina Island Resort on Saturday night.

He said many are not aware of the use of having a lot of clothes lying around, but due to it being biodegradable; it’s bad for the environment.

“Instead of throwing it away, we should reuse it and make it a new and upcoming outfit that we can use daily and be an inspiration for the next generation,” he said.

He added there’s great excitement in witnessing the quality of work from each fashion house.

“You can just tell by the work and effort they put through each showcase and we’re really happy for everyone participating, hopefully see more and more designers and upcoming designers to come,” he added.

D.M.F’s objectives are to cater to all body shapes and sizes, provide high quality fashion at affordable prices, but especially an assurance that the brand is a household name.

D.M.F. has achieved overall winner for the first Samoa Fashion Week in 2016 as a new upcoming designer, which he showcased his work at the Pacific Runway Fashion Show in Australia. D.M.F.’s signature is sexy, clean, structured, texture, movement and color inputted through all outfits made.  “Dreams are not made to be written. Reality is not made to be seen. Now is the moment to live it, own it, you are the key,” Mr. Fabricius.  D.M.F. has been invited to the London Fashion week held in September this year but the designer said he’s considering the offer due to expenses and how it would affect his schedules set up in the upcoming months.
