Volleyball Samoa Federation National League tournament is getting more competitive, with teams putting on a tough performance.

This week kicked off round seven of the weekly tournament at the Samoa Independence Seventh Day Adventist Church hall at Fugalei.

Shield title holders of both the Men’s Division One and Two lost their matches this week, with new teams claiming the title.

The I’asa team, from Leusoalii, thrashed shield holder, Fagalii, to claim the Men’s Division One Shield this week, winning in the final set.

Fagalii enjoyed a week with the Shield after scooping it from the Uimaiama boys, from Samatau, the previous week.

Other exciting matches in the Men’s Division One saw Tausala team defeating Lepe ole Soaga side, winning two straight sets.

Lona Youth defeating Uso team, Liona Volleyball team from Laulii, defeating Spicey team from Si’usega, while Titans won against Uimaiama in the final set.

In the women’s division, Lupe ole Soaga, retained their title for the sixth time this week after thrashing Tausala team in two straight sets.

Lona Youth defeated Teine o le Aoa in one of the Women’s division clashes. I’asa defeated Mud Girls and Segaula Girls defeated Sister United during their clash.

But for the Men’s Division Two competition, Uimaiama boys, from Samatau, stole the show and won the shield match against Shield holder Lona Youth, winning two straight sets.

Titans team will challenge I’asa next week for the Men’s Division One Shield Match.
