Kevin Hilne couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present than a trip to the Pearl of the South Pacific – Samoa.
Kevin, from England, is in Samoa with his wife, Hayley Hilne, from South Africa.
They’ve spent four days in the islands and their choice to travel to Samoa happened to coincide with Kevin’s 39th birthday, which was celebrated last weekend.
“I chose to come to Samoa because it is one of the most relaxed places in the world. I’m now working at Thailand. Thailand also has beautiful beach resorts, but there are a lot of tourists. Samoa is the suitable place to enjoy nature and time with my wife for my birthday,” Kevin shared with Dear Tourist.
His wife spoke of her first impressions of Samoa.
“People in Samoa are very friendly to us. Even when we just walk on the road, they say hi to us and give us a smile. It seems like they welcome us so much.”
Last week Saturday, they visited the To Sua Ocean Trench, which was the first on their bucket list of places to visit in Samoa.
Hayley said: “We could spend a lot of time there. We met unique new friends from Singapore, Portugal, Australia, and Japan. I could enjoy talking and spending time with them. In this four-day trip, the trench is the most impressive place for me in Samoa. I have to promote to my friends that I found a wonderful place in Samoa.
Kevin added: “I took a water camera in there, so I could take a lot of nice pictures in there. I’m looking forward to watching these pictures when I go back to Thailand. This country has a great nature and traditional life style. I already visited a lot of countries, but I will remember Samoa as the best place I spent an amazing birthday in 2018.”
With their memories of Samoa, it is a sure thing they will live up to their promise to return.
