BACK IN AFTER THE 2016 ELECTION: Sala Fata Pinati.

BACK IN AFTER THE 2016 ELECTION: Sala Fata Pinati.

Sala Fata Pinati is the winner once again for Gaga’emauga No.1 but don’t expect him to come out with a ‘to do’ list.

He acknowledged the support from God and his constituency but declined to talk about what lies ahead.

“I don’t plan and I don’t make promises,” he said.

“Whatever I see something that needs to be improved, I will do it and that is the same with my constituency, Whatever they need, I will help them in every way I can.”

Sala Fata Pinati who ran against Tuala Joseph Ponifasio and Sala Iose McCarthy won with 993 to Tuala’s 803 votes.

Sala said he had little to say except to thank God and his constituency for their support.

“I wasn’t expecting this because I said to everyone, whoever will win the election I will support,” said Sala

“[And] then the result came I humbly whispered my thanks to God for choosing me once again.”

Meanwhile, it seemed that many voters in the constituency are happy with their choice.

Tunaimatia Vaifale Viane, a matai of Leauvaa said Sala deserved to win because he has served the constituency in many ways.

“A person’s calling is from God and through the people He has put in their hearts to vote for the person who looks after the people and loves them unconditionally,” he said.

“Sala has been helping the people especially families and also the young people who are looking for jobs so they can take care of their families.

“He has done a lot for the constituency and for that, the people have repaid him by voting for him.”

Tunaimatia also said that he was very happy that the election went smoothly and that there were no problems at all.

“We’d also like to thank Tuala Ponifasio and Sala Iose Iose for the magnificent election.

“As that saying goes, “not all boats win the race,” he said.

Vaifale Atapito agreed with Tunaimatia.

“There is no other feeling except to give thanks to the Lord for today has come to an end and our candidate has once again come on board,” he said.

“I’m sure that is how all Sala’s supporters feel right now and so let’s support him this year and for the next years.

“I believe we should trust in God and also the constituency and have faith that the Lord will guide you throughout this five years term and you have our full support.”

He acknowledged Tuala Ponifasio and Sala Iose for the having the courage to run in this election.

“May the peace of the Lord be with you and congratulations to you both.

“Let us support the one who God has chosen and may His blessings be upon all of us in our journey through the next five years.”
