It’s official.

Wales is heading to Samoa this year and will take on the men in blue at Apia Park.

This was confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Rugby Union, Faleomavaega Vincent Fepuleai during an interview with the Weekend Observer.

“It’s a busy year for the Rugby Union,” Faleomavaega said.

“We’ve got Wales coming over and the qualifications for the Rugby World Cup.”

The Welsh team will play Manu Samoa on 24 June 2017.

When that happen, it will revive one of the fiercest rivalries in world rugby.

The last time Samoa hosted Wales at Apia Park was in 1985, when Wales toured the Pacific Islands and Wales won with a final score of 14-32.

One of the most unforgettable moments of rugby history is during the 1991 World Cup where Samoa stunned the stadium at Cardiffs Arms Park beating Wales with a final score of 16-13.

This match is etched in the rugby history books as the first time Samoa introduced themselves to world as a force to be reckoned with.

Samoa beat the odds as no one expected Samoa to overcome Wales and truly put the island  nation on the map.

The win for Samoa also stopped Wales dead in their tracks as Samoa ended Wales 10 game winning streak.

The last time Samoa faced Wales was in 2012, where Samoa over came Wales in the 2012 Autumn Internationals with a final score of 19-26.

Five years later, the two will meet again for what is projected to be an amazing match up .
