A Choral Exhibition of 10 choirs from various denominations in the country filled the air with music at the opening of the 26th Teuila Festival on Sunday evening.

They were from the Catholic Church (Pule’aga Apia); the Congregational Church of Jesus, the Nazarene Church, the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Methodist Church (Synod from West Upolu), the Protestant Church, Assembly of God Church from Fusi Safata, Congregational Christian Church from Vaitele-Uta, Worship Centre  Church, and the Apia West Stake of the Latter Day Saint.

The Official Prayer Service was conducted by the Catholic Archbishop Alapati Mataeliga in front of the Government building.

Government Ministers, the Diplomatic Corps and hundreds of locals and visitors were present.

Teuila Festival was first established in 1999 and has grown to become one of the most celebrated annual events.

The exciting variety for 2016 ensures there is something for everyone with activities including traditional Siva Samoa and contemporary dance competitions, Ailao Afi/Fire Knife dancing, umu, tattooing and carving demonstrations, Miss Samoa Pageant and much more.
