Meet Sean and Keil who are here for the first time with their two daughters Olivia and Tiana Parnell to experience a different culture and way of living.

Mr. Parnell told the Dear Tourist that they have only been here for just couple of days of their two week holiday.

“We chose Samoa because my wife and I were looking for somewhere warm. As you know, at the moment its winter back home,” he said.

“We were looking for a place that was a different experience and also we wanted to go somewhere where there wouldn’t be lots of tourists. We didn’t want to go to a country where we’d end up running into other Australians.

“We went through the internet and found that Samoa is just the place we were looking for and as we have never been here before, that made the trip even better.”

Mr. Palmer said they feel that made the right choice because his two teenage daughters love it here as does his wife.

“The people are genuine and very welcoming and we don’t get that back home. I guess this is just how the people are but it’s just amazing,” he said.

“We’ve tried the food as well and it’s beautiful especially the seafood, the coconut milk.

“Our daughters loved the taro chips. They’re just different from what we usually have back home which is just what we wanted and we’ve found it here.”

Mr. Parnell’s daughter Olivia also voiced what she loves.

“I love how we drive through the small villages and the people just wave at you,” she said.

Mrs. Parnell added that she just loves everything about this country.

“I’m also fascinated by the graves because back home there are cemeteries but here I’m just amazed at how the people keep the graves of their loved ones neat and clean. That’s something you don’t get to see back home.

“We will be visiting Savaii next week on Monday and we’re feeling exciting about That.”

As for the drinks, the couple love the local beers.

“Vailima is the best because it’s a very local taste and has low carbs,” she said.

“We will definitely recommend Samoa to our friends and families back home and hopefully we can visit again some day.”
