Samoa’s selection of cocktails is in for an intriguing surprise. Thanks to Paradise Beverage’s new range of  vodka’s and rum:  Katia, Bounty and Fiji Rum.

But before the official roll out, local bartenders from bars and hotels met with renowned Mixologist , Alipate Laveti  to try their hands with the new cocktails featuring these alcohols.

Alipate Laveti is based in Fiji and is manager at one of Fiji’s hottest clubs, Onyx.

He told the Samoa Observer, “I’ve been a mixologist going on three years.  Basically I started off as a bartender. Then I started going deep with cocktails and spirits.”

“All  I did was keep posting pictures and videos online and then I went on to cocktail competitions.  I won three so far, after those three, they asked me to be a judge and it pretty much went off from there.”

“Basically, I create cocktails That’s all I do everyday.  I try to come up with new things  even if I have to go around and taste spices.”

This is all in part of Paradise Beverage’s subsidiary, Samoa Breweries Limited  new roll out   range of vodkas and rum which will officially  be launched at the Sheraton Hotel.
