We come to love not by finding the perfect person but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly. 

This was according to the newly wedded couple, Easter Taliaiva and Misiona Simo, as they tied the knot before God, families and friends yesterday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Alafua.

The service was led by President Jason Joseph.

The lead photographer for the Samoa Observer newspaper, Misiona is the son of Niko and Lily Simo from Sinamoga.  

Easter is the daughter of Puna and Lave Taliaiva from the village of Moamoa. 

According to Mr. Simo, they met at church and became friends for two years but have been in a relationship for five years.

“I am overwhelmed with joy at the moment — in life we are all made for that one special someone which we all call the one —and I am happy to have found mine.

“I am in love with her in a way that words fail to describe how I feel. Life is not easy, yet to have her with me, makes everything worth going through.

“We do have our ups and downs but it is important to still hold on and sort things out instead of being immature,” Misiona said.

Easter said that their relationship was not always lovey-dovey or sunshine and rainbows.

“We may laugh, smile, but there are times when we disagree, at the end of the day we always talk, apologising to each other and make up. 

“Happily ever after only exist in fairytales because in reality you go through the bad and good together with that one person that will fight beside you against all the trials that life throws at you. 

“You have to accept the fact that no one is perfect, there will always come a day where you’ll make mistakes, you’re only human and you’ll still get hurt at some point,” Mrs. Simo stated.

She also said that it is just like how everybody sins even if they fear and love the Lord so much.

“But that’s the beauty of it; you’ll grow so much in the process of loving and being loved. 

“You’ll learn from experiences and what it teaches you. Our imperfections and our mistakes build us, not define us. Let yourself grow and blossom into what you’re meant to be.

“I am ready and he is set to embark on our journey together.”
