Samoa and China sign agreement

Samoa and China have signed a Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement.

The agreement was signed Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi and China’s Ambassador to Samoa, Wang Xuefeng, on Friday.

The Agreement aims to further develop the close and friendly relations between China and Samoa. 

It provides an economic and technical cooperation arrangement between the two countries for an amount of RMB Y 250,000,000.00 (T$96million).

China continues to provide valuable support to assis with many national development projects in the area of sports, agriculture, education, health and infrastructure.

The funds provided under the technical and cooperation Agreement will contribute towards discussions and studies relating to the Vaiusu Port plus other projects as agreed to by both governments in accordance with the needs and priorities of the government of Samoa.
