Naitosala Jane Schuster is a self-made business woman.
The Owner and Director of Golden Paws Company, in Ashburton, New Zealand, is among the nine contestants vying for the MacDonald’s Miss Samoa title this week.
The 24-year-old is taking time from her career to fulfill a childhood dream as a contestant in the Pageant.
And the stereotype thinking labeling the Miss Samoa Pageant is just about beauty is unacceptable to Contestant #4 representing Miss TAPZ Fashion.
“The Pageant is the platform to voice the voices of women,” says the former Avele and Leififi College student who completed her college studies in Ashburton, New Zealand.
Born and groomed in Samoa until her family relocated to New Zealand, she is confident about her chances.
She is comfortable that her business background and experience will be an asset in her Miss Samoa campaign, noting that to pinpoint a contestant’s platform to a particular issue does not do any justice to the pageant.
“The Pageant is about woman’s perspective and my platform is to encourage Samoan woman and young ladies that they can be anything they want to be if they believe in themselves,” she added.
“I am a determined, highly motivated, optimistic and a realist person. I cope well when the going gets tough and I am very good at finding solutions to problems,” says the 5th in family of nine.
On her personal side, the daughter to Sione Michael Schuster and Peauvasa Leu’u Schuster is a positive, enthusiastic and relish a challenge.
“I am a fun, easy going and a sociable person.
“And I am a family person and enjoy spending time with my extended family.”
