Young and old gathered in Samoa’s capital, Apia, to celebrate 56 years of independence.
It was a weekend of activities with people enjoying the early morning parade, entertainment and food. Villagers from Savaii and Upolu were also thrilled to be part of the event entertaining the invited guests and the public.
A ball was also held to mark independence with other businesses and bars setting up music fiestas to mark another year of Samoa’s freedom.
Independence Day was also a time for families and friends to gather and celebrate the historic event that comes once in year.
