Water, snorkelling, amazing

Life is merrier in the islands.

That’s the perspective shared by Andrew Humphrey and Tricia Johnson, who are spending their holidays in the islands.

The couple has been married for more than five years and there is no better place to be together than in Samoa.

They have only been here six days and already have done a list of things in their bucket list.

The Dear Tourist team found the couple at the Taumeasina Island Resort having their sarongs printed with Samoan designs.

“We took a bus into town and took another bus and went to Vailima. We have gone around and came down again. We have been to the Flea Market and supermarkets, walked through town,” they said.

“We have also seen the church and it was amazing, the Catholic Cathedral at Mulivai. It was a really good experience, getting to see all of this in just a few days.”

They are from New Zealand and it is their first time on the island.

“We have been in the water most of the time. It feels good to be in the warm sea. We also went snorkelling and it was amazing.

“Just being here for the first time is the highlight of our trip. It has been so easy to get around here because the people have been very friendly to us.

“They are very welcoming, always greeting us and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It is clearly beautiful here,” said Tricia.

The warm hospitality of the people has made their trip extra special.

“That is the thing about here that I really like. There is something that is always on. There are always activities available for you to join or if you don’t want to as well, which for me is really good.

“We just feel so relaxed here and just simply happy, enjoying the weather and all these entertainments that are going on here at the resort.

“Ladies night was good, incredible. Tonight is the diva’s night and we are excited for that. We look forward to that,” she added.

The only problem they faced was the street vendors in town, approaching them for money.

But nevertheless, they promised to return.
