It is the beauty of Samoa that has captivated Michelle and Stu Cooper.

The couple from New Zealand received tickets to Samoa and they couldn’t have been happier with their destination.

The Dear Tourist team found the couple relaxing by the pool at the Taumeasina Island Resort.

Asked if they were ready to go home, Michelle gave a “yes” and “no” response.

“It will be nice to go home and see our kids but over here is also very beautiful. We went to To Sua Trench which was pretty wicked. We also went to the Taufua Beach Fales.”

The couple have made the most of their time in Samoa.

“We drove around, went past the Lake that was in the rural area. There was a place that was called Samusu which we drove past.

“We came back to the Cross Island Road and it was just lovely.”

This is their first time in Samoa and they promise to return.

“Our drive yesterday would be the highlight of our trip, it was really awesome.

“The other side of the coastal area of the island is a bit more different than this one. We also had lunch at Taufua Beach Fale, which was amazing.”

They have also had a glimpse of the culture.

“We saw a bit of the Fiafia night.

“We didn’t realize that we had to come down early to find a table. We were sitting far away from where the show was happening, we didn’t read the brochures properly on what we had to do.

“We stood up and walked and saw the end of it which was really cool, the young fellas that did the dance, they were good.”

And now that they are ready to return, they are also taking a bit of Samoa with them.

“We did some shopping in town and we got to buy something for the boys because we saved it till the last day.

“So we have Googled a couple of places that we could go to and try to take some stuff back. Also for my sister in law that is staying home with our boy and our dog.”

Despite the change of weather, it is the hot summer sun that they will miss the most when they head back home today.

“This is a beautiful weather and waking up every day in the islands not having to go to work. This has also been a good break from work, and we will be back to work next week.

“The people have been so helpful with everything and even with the services that have been provided. They are so friendly which has been pretty awesome.

“We would love to come back, with our kids because it will be really awesome coming here.”
