Vaimea Primary School dominated the 2018 Faleata Primary Schools Netball tournament earlier last month.

They won both the senior and intermediate divisions, with their junior team claiming second place behind Vaigaga Primary School.

A total number of 13 Primary Schools in the Faleata region, including Government, Private and Church Schools, competed in this tournament.

According to Tonu’u Fuamoli Amituana’i-Misi, the Principal of Vaimea Primary School and Secretary of the Faleata District Principal’s Association, she is extremely proud and pleased with the achievement from her netball teams.

She stated the results are evidence of the teachers’ hard work, as well as the never ending support of parents.

“Nothing would be possible here in the school itself without the support and assistance from the community, teachers, and especially the students.”

She mentioned the tournament aims to upskill young netters not only with the game, but with their level of interaction with players from other schools.

Vaimea Primary School and the other top four schools from the competition will undergo a selection trial this Thursday for the Faleata Primary School team to compete in the National District Netball competition that is coming up.
