Rot starts from the top

Dear Editor,

I’ve been following the issue of school violence in Samoa.

Criminal behaviour starts from the top and moves downwards through society. Look at what goes on time and time again in government and the church hierarchy.

Is it any wonder that all of Samoa and its children are becoming less connected to the society in which they were born into?

They are becoming more like the criminals who take from the poor for their own selfish greed and the government who thinks taking money, land and whatever else they want from the people through bribery, corruption and no transparency or accountability.

The people are losing their connection to their society because they are being cheated by those who are supposed to care for them and they know it.
