The driver is 25 years of age and according  to Maota, he appeared to be drunk.

He said the driver took a breathalyzer test and it was confirmed at more than 70%.

The 25-year-old is being charge with being under the influence of alcohol in breath (breathalyzer).

Maota said the matter is still under investigation and there could be more charges against the accused. The vehicle was coming from Mulinu’u and veered off the road, crashed into the road rails on the seawall and into the two vehicles parked on the side of the road.  Maota said there were three vehicles involved, and the incident occurred around 10:30pm  on Thursday night.
