Leilua not in Toa squad

We don’t officially know who’s on the Toa Samoa roster, but we definitely know who won’t be included.

Toa Samoa  star, Joey BJ Leilua is one of the most sought after centres’ in rugby league.

He has represented Samoa in the Four Nations as well as the 2015 Polynesian Cup and is renowned for his trademark style and hulking size.

However,  he will not be in the Toa line-up for their historical match against Fiji Bati .

The Toa Samoa Head Coach, Matt Parish, commented on his absence, “He obviously won’t be selected in this team.

But we’ve got a number of good young players here. Junior Paulo was picked in the Australian train-on squad, he’s here and Sam Kasiano has obviously represented New Zealand before.”

Fellow Canberra Raiders star, Junior Paulo, was recently selected  to the Australian Kangaroos train on Squad on Tuesday.

However, on Thursday, he was pictured at the airport departing for Apia with the rest of the Toa Samoa players.

Both Junior Paulo and Joey Leilua were selected for the same training squad but Paulo opted to leave and play for Toa while Leilua stayed with the Kangaroos.

We will just have to wait until today for the official release of the Toa Samoa roster to see who will fill the centre’s position in the historical match this Saturday.
