Leulumoega Fou College are the undisputed champions of Secondary School Sevens.

Both the school’s girls and boys Under 18 teams were victorious in the Bluesky Secondary School Sevens tournament yesterday.

The tournament at Apia Park Stadium was well supported with school pride on the line.

Samoa College topped the Under-16 boys division after defeating old rivals Saint Joseph’s College in a hotly contested final, 12-5.

Samoa College won both of their pool games against Aana College and Uesiliana, booking them a spot in the semi-final.

They went on and played Leulumoega Fou College during the second semi-final and defeated Leulumoega Fou, 15-10 at fulltime.

The Under-18 division saw a lot of upsets in this year’s tournament.

Only the top seeds teams from each Pool progress directly to the Cup Semi-final.

The first Cup Semi-final clash saw Leiifiifi College taking on Leulumoega Fou College.

This was the game of the tournament with Leiififi College dominating possession until a last minute try from Leulumoega to send them to the Cup final.

Leulumoega won 15-10.

The second semi-final saw an improved Alofi o Taoa Secondary School team from Savai’i going head to head with St Joseph’s College.

St Joseph’s College prevailed, 17-14, to set up a final clash against Leulumoega Fou.

It was a tough tussle but Leulumoega Fou College was too good, leading 19-0 at half time. S.J.C continued to struggle in the second half with Leulumoega piling on more points for a 26-0 victory.

Leulumoega Fou College skipper Reupena Seveali’i was a proud man.

“I am speechless,” he said. “We have come a long way and all the hard work has paid off.

“This is for our School, it’s something we have to give back to our beloved School.”
