After years and months of preparations, General Election candidates and their supporters now face an anxious wait. The results are literally a matter of hours away.

And for many of them, they can hardly wait.

Yesterday, the Samoa Observer caught up with some of the election candidates, sharing their final thoughts.

Member of Parliament for Aana Alofi No.1, Tuitama Dr. Leao Tuitama, said he is confident.

“In fact, I feel very calm with the belief in what the Prime Minister said that all callings are from God,” he said. “So whatever the result will be, then that’s a decision from God.We have to follow His will.” Tuitama is also the Minister of Health.

For Afoafouvale John Moors, the current M.P for Palauli Sasa’e, he is grateful for the opportunity to represent his people.

“I am indeed very indebted to God and everyone who supported me during the past few years,” he said. “I’m grateful for all the support you’ve shown.”

He was especially thankful to the people of his constituency.

“Thank you very much for believing in me and for trusting me to be your representative in Parliament.” And now looking ahead, Afoafouvale said everything is now up to God.

“Let God be the judge of everything,” he said.  He also wanted to wish his fellow candidates the best of luck. “Whoever will win, we have to accept the result and give glory to God for He is our decision maker.
