Election Liquor Ban change

The Liquor Board has amended the hours for the alcohol ban for the General Elections.

As opposed to its earlier public notice where members of the public were told that the ban would be effective today, this has now been changed.

“To all Bar owners, Night Clubs and Retailers,” a new notice issued yesterday reads.

“With reference to our Notice previously informed on media, we hereby advised of the following change to the days of temporarily ban on sale of liquor prior and during Election day:

DATES: TEMPORARY OPENING HOURS :

Friday 4th of March 2016 to Saturday 5th March 2016

From 12.00am on Friday 4th March 2016 to 5.00am of Saturday 5th March 2016.

Retail of Liquor will resume at normal times after 5.00am on Saturday 5th of March 2016.”

The change follows a meeting between the Liquor Board and members of the business community on Tuesday, facilitated by the Samoa Chamber of Commerce.
