If you’re searching for a perfect escape to relax and refresh your mind, Samoa is the place to be.
For Janine Staunton, from Wellington, New Zealand, she has only been here for two days but has experienced this already.
It was the hot sun and the ocean breeze that brought her so much calmness, before she heads back to her reality - work.
The Dear Tourist team found her by the poolside at the Taumeasina Island Resort enjoying her cold bottle of Vailima and watching her five-year-old daughter, Olivia, enjoying her swim under the hot sun.
She shared that enjoying the islands and what it has to offer is the reason for their one-week trip to the islands.
When asked if they have tried swimming in the ocean, Olivia enthusiastically said she had so much fun out in the ocean with her father. They went kayaking on Wednesday and she saw so many different kinds of tropical fishes.
The thrill for the five-year-old didn’t end there; they were also able to step out of the resort yesterday and went for a drive around Apia just to explore. The 42-year-old Janine said they were able to check out the Flea Market and bought so many local fruits.
“I bought a bracelet and necklace from the Flea Market. I love shells it’s so pretty. I also went to the fish market and saw many fishes just like the ones I saw in the ocean with different colours and sizes,” Olivia said.
Janine said they looked forward to the Fiafia night and having many more things to explore before they head back home next week Tuesday.
“Just seeing different cultures and languages, a chance to getting something different to what we had before, there are some similarities and some differences. Finding out what they are is the best part. We have already gotten a car to drive around and see what we could come across,” said Janine.
They found out about Samoa through a girl who works with Janine.
She said Samoa was well known in New Zealand as well and it was a good choice for them to travel here because it was not far from where they lived.
Being in Samoa allowed the Staunton family to spend more time with each other before returning to their normal routine.
Janine added they’ve enjoyed their trip so far.
