Get up on the right side

Think a minute…If you are not having a good day, people sometimes humorously say that you “got up on the wrong side of the bed.”

Amazingly, brain surgeons discovered that the brain actually has two sides and that each side thinks differently.

The left side of the brain is where our logical, short-term thinking comes from, and the right side of our brain is where we do our imagining and creative thinking. It is from this right side of our brain that we get most of our motivation and creative ideas.

And having a meaningful, important purpose is what stimulates this right side of our brain.

For example, if you had to carry a heavy sack of sand on your back across town, your left brain of logic and short-term thinking will make you feel very tired, even upset, to do something so boring and physically hard.

But, if your little daughter was seriously hurt and you had to carry her that same distance to the hospital, even if she weighed as much as that heavy sack of sand, you would gladly carry her. The right side of your brain would send you an amazing amount of energy to do the job.

That is the big difference it makes in your life when you have a purpose. When we have a reason to live, our right brain gives us all kinds of energy, excitement and ideas for a successful, satisfying life.

Getting up every morning with a purpose activates the right side of our head with a passionate desire that drives us. It will give you motivation and energy to live your life to the fullest each and every single day.

The scientific genius Albert Einstein said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” But our imagination must also be based on our knowledge of why we are here. It is not until we know our purpose that we have the power to make the right side of our brain fully work for us.

Remember, our Creator gave us our imagination so we can reach our potential and become all that He designed us to be. Since He is the One Who made us, He is the only One Who can tell us our real purpose for living and being here.

Won’t you ask Jesus to forgive you for living your own, wrong way—and then ask Him to take charge of your daily way of thinking and living?

He will show you your purpose in life, and help you fully use the right side of your brain He gave you, so you will have all the energy, passion and creativity you need each day. With Him in full control, you will always get up on the right side. Just think a minute…
